Megan Meadors, Miss PRIDE of INDIANA, Makes the Fort Wayne Media Rounds

Filed under: Uncategorized on Saturday, June 7th, 2008 by Terry | No Comments

Megan Meadors appeared on two Fort Wayne radio stations and television stations promoting Miss Pride of Indiana, Miss Indiana, and the Totally Rad 80’s Prom fundraiser. She started her tour at the VIBE 106.5 where she spoke with Mia whose show focuses on events happening in the community. Later in the month, she appeared LIVE on Indiana NewsCenter’s noon broadcast. Megan spoke with Corrine Rose live on the air promoting the Prom fundraiser and her road to Miss Indiana. The following Monday morning she was a guest of WAJI’s Majic in the Morning team, Dirk and Jeannette. She found out live on the air that she was their “Guess the Celebrity” celebrity. It was a 20-question style game and after numerous callers, one guessed that she was a titleholder. The winner won tickets to see Sheryl Crow.

Following that, Megan talked about being Miss Pride of Indiana and her preparation for Miss Indiana. She revealed her talent selection and the work that goes into preparing for the Miss Indiana competition. Megan explained the progression from Miss Pride of Indiana to Miss Indiana to Miss America. When asked if she REALLY wanted to be Miss America, Megan replied of course!

Megan Meadors, Miss PRIDE OF INDIANA, in Fourpoints Magazine, Dances Till Midnight, Wows Them at the Wizards Game, and Meets Marie Osmond!

Filed under: Uncategorized on Thursday, May 8th, 2008 by Terry | No Comments

Megan Meadors partnered with a group of fellow University of Indianapolis
(UINDY) students to host the first annual UINDY Dance Marathon to benefit
Riley Hospital for Children. Their special guest and princess for the day was
Riley, a patient from the CMN hospital. A special moment took place when
Riley donned Megan’s sash, which almost touched the floor and she placed the
crown crookedly on her own head, it was adorable. Many other children
attended the event and were treated to lively music, great food, and crown
decorating. The committee was pleasantly surprised when their donation goal of
$500.00 was shattered by raising over $2,000.00!

The following weekend, Megan headed north and was welcomed by the Fort Wayne
Wizard’s baseball team where she sang the National Anthem and learned a few
calls from the event’s umpires prior to the game. She joined northeast Indiana
area 3rd graders who were rewarded for completing the teams reading initiative
and watched as the Wizards decidedly defeated Quad Cities.

As WAJI, Majic 95.1’s CMN spokesperson, Megan joined Program Director Barb
Richards and worked their booth at the 2008 “Tapestry: A Day for Women” event
in Fort Wayne. More than 1,400 women attended the sold out event, which
boasted boutique shopping, trade show exhibits, break out sessions, and
speakers who shed light on women’s issues. Proceeds from the event go toward
scholarships for women attending IPFW, one of which was presented at the
event. The afternoon Keynote Speaker was Marie Osmond, co- founder of
the “Children’s Miracle Network.” Megan spoke with Marie about CMN, the Miss
America organization, had a photo op with her, and learned that one of her
sons is dating our very own Kirsten Haglund, Miss America!

P.S. Be sure to check out your recent issue of Fourpoints magazine. Megan’s
icy Polar Plunge photo was featured in the popular pageant magazine.
